MV Alta 'Ghost Ship'

As the marine pollution response contractor for Cork County Council, LCF was engaged to remove oil and various other waste materials from the stricken ghost ship, the 'MV Alta' at Ballycotton, Co Cork.

This is an environmentally sensitive area and LCF's experience in dealing with marine pollution was essential for the success of the delicate operation.

An airbus helicopter was used to remove the oil barrels and other items for safe disposal at a licenced waste disposal site.
